Duane "Lefty" Shield was a long-time resident of the Burien area where he owned and operated Burien Mortgage and Escrow for 35 years. He had recently moved back to the Seattle area after retiring in Arizona for the past 11 years. Lefty passed away after a short battle with cancer.

He is survived by his daughters Julie (Jimmy) Rice and Laura (Jeff) Macaluso, granddaughter Jade and grandsons Beau, Max and Cameron. A huge thank you to Julie for caring for him in his last months and to Evergreen Hospice for their care in his final days.

A celebration of Lefty's life will he held Saturday, December 8.
