Witty big sister to George, Earl (Bub) and John, also of Gresham. Always loving mother to James Asher (Breezy Point, Minn.) and Vickie Asher (Des Moines). Perfect mother-in-law to Carrie, and most devoted grandmother to Lauren Jo, and new baby grandson Austin James. Born Jan. 27, 1945, in Wareham, Massachusetts, Claire graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland and attended Oregon State University. She met and married Ken Harris, U.S. Navy, of San Diego, and later moved to Des Moines, where they raised their family. Claire worked as a medical insurance supervisor for Equifax, EMSI, and for Highline Public Schools until her death. She was a loyal Mariners fan, ushering Safeco Field to root "her boys" on. She will be most remembered as a gracious host for family and friends invited to dinner, BBQ, or any holiday meal. Clare took to her generous and loving heart many people, and they became her family.

A Memorial Remembrance Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, at the Des Moines United Methodist Church, 22225 9th Ave. S. Des Moines. The family requests memorial donations to the Des Moines United Methodist Church in honor of Clare's many hours of service to her church and Sunday school
