Ballard's outfielder Oliver Guarino was named KingCo player of the week for his offensive performance last week. The senior was 5-9 last week with two doubles and a triple allowing him to drive in six runs, helping his team win two out of three games.
This is Guarino’s first player of the week award.
The success from last week did not carry over into last night's game against Issaquah however.
Issaquah got ahead by one in the first inning and extended their uncontested lead to 6 to 1.
Ballard got a run over the plate in the fourth inning but so did Issaquah. In the sixth inning the Beavers got two more runs but they were unable to score in the seventh and last inning.
The Beavers lost 8 to 3.
