Update: Des Moines Animal Control Officer Jan Magnuson reports "Wookie," the stray dog found at the Des Moines P.O. found a new home on Saturday, April 16.
E-mails Magnuson, "“Wookie” went home with his new family today after having all his “doctoring” yesterday- he is such a sweet lil guy and his new family is thrilled with him! Thanks to everyone for all your help in finding him the wonderful, caring home he deserves!

Last week, Magnuson reported she was looking for a good home for a stray Des Moines dog.
She emails, "'Wookie' is a very happy, healthy, friendly and outgoing guy! He was found as a stray at the DM Post Office but had no ID and was never claimed.

He is about a year of age, white with chocolate patches, and looks like a Tibetan terrier. He is scheduled to be neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped Friday morning, so will be available for adoption on Saturday morning.

This is a fabulous dog- please contact me immediately if you or someone you know can give him the "forever" home he deserves!!!"
