Georgia Irene Buckalew, 82, died at Capital Medical Center on Sunday, January 20, 2008.

Georgia was born January 26, 1925 in Chelan, to the late George and Irene Cook. Georgia married Hulon (Buck) Buckalew on January 14, 1943.

Georgia and Buck lived in Burien for 43 years where they were members of Lake Burien Presbyterian Church.

Two years after Buck's death, Georgia moved to Olympia to be closer to her daughter Susan and her grandchildren.

After the move Georgia volunteered at the Olympia Senior Center for several years and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Hulon (Buck) Buckalew, in 1997 and her son Dennis M. Buckalew in 1983, and is survived by her daughter Susan Flynn and husband Edward Flynn of Olympia along with grandchildren Seamus, Brendan and Katie Flynn.

Georgia is also survived by sisters Viola McGregor, Edith Tackett and Doris Tackett as well as Father Jack Buckalew, Silverdale, and Edward and Louise Buckalew, Memphis, Tennessee, and close family friend Helen Lyons.

A memorial service was held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Olympia, on Friday, January 25.
