Janet (Arteburn) Wright

On the morning of January 10, 2008, Janet (age 72) left our world and joined the angels.

Janet was born June 24, 1935, in LaGrande, Oregon, and was raised in Baker City, Oregon. Janet attended college at Eastern Oregon State College where she earned a teaching degree and met and married her husband and lifelong friend, Warren "Dub" G. Wright. Janet later earned a Master's degree from Western Washington University. Janet spent most of her career working as a classroom teacher, outdoor educator, school administrator and elementary principal in the Highline School District. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed hiking, camping and just being outdoors.

In 1978 Janet and Warren moved to their dream home in Greenwater, Washington, to be close to the outdoor and natural world that she loved. Janet is survived by her husband of 51 years, Warren "Dub" G. Wright; daughter and son-in-law Dana and Blake McKinley Jr. of Spokane; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Janis Wright of Bend, Ore.; grandsons Paul and Scott McKinley, both of Spokane; sister and brother-in-law Gwen and Bob Rouse of Terrebonne, Ore.: brother-in-law Gary Williamson of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews in Oregon and Washington. She is preceded in death by her parents Royce "Tex" and Amy Arteburn; and her sister, Lynne Williamson.

Janet will be remembered as a loving and caring soul who always put people first in her life. She was truly an angel here on earth and we will all miss her dearly. We know she is healthy once again and hiking the mountains of heaven with the Lord. Family services will be held at a later date.
