In loving memory of Aggie Scott who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the age of 95.

Aggie was born on August 18, 1912, in Valley, Washington, the third of four children born to James and Mary Elizabeth Ryan.

When Aggie was a small child, car were just beginning to replace buggies and homes were still lit with kerosene lanterns.

As a teenager, Aggie caught the eye of Albert E. Scott, whose family had a store and meat market in Valley. After her graduation from Valley High School in 1929, Bert and Aggie were married and moved to Seattle.

By 1935, they were building on an acre of land in Burien, where they raised two sons, Lelant and James, and resided throughout their lives.

The extended Scott/Ryan/Holt family returned to the Okanogan each hunting season, bringing home meat for the winter. Aggie cooked the tenderest venison Swiss steak you ever tasted.

Throughout World War II, Bert served in the Seabees, supporting our troops in the South Pacific. Grandma Ryan helped with their two young boys while Aggie worked in Burien, at Lloyd's Diner and then a Scotty's Steak House.

After the war, Bert returned to longshoring in Seattle, retiring in 1970. He and Aggie were excellent bowlers and competed in local leagues for many years.

In the 1950s, Bert and Aggie build a cabin at Mason Lake naming it "Scott's Folly," where everyone was always welcome, played cards, told stories around the campfire, trudged up the hill to the outhouse (sometimes in the dark, barefoot, hoping not to step on a slug), and a generation of grandkids and their friends learned to water ski.

Aggie lost her beloved Bert to cancer in 1985, and was also preceded in death by hr two sisters and brother, young grandson Dale Gordon Scott, and great-grandson Taylor Edward Scott.

Always resourceful and independent, Aggie remained in their home, cultivated a huge beautiful garden, and wouldn't hesitate to climb a ladder and paint the eaves at age 90.

Aggie is survived by her sons Lelant G. Scott and his wife Carmen of Des Moines, James A. Scott and wife Lois of Mason Lake, grandchildren and step-grandchildren Sandi (Duane) Cash, Sherry (Gregg) Running, Brian (Maryjo) Scott, Mary (Brent) Hobday, David (Sacie) Bonathan, Carold (Tracy) Anderson, Nancy Spickler, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends, at a later date, to celebrate the lives of both Aggie and Bert
