Activities during last years' Mom & Me event at the Woodland Park Zoo
A tradition in the Northwest continues with Woodland Park Zoo’s 21st annual Mom & Me at the Zoo. Moms will be honored with half price admission to the zoo on the day of the event, May 7. Live entertainment including ARC Dance and Roberto the Magnificent, Cougar Mountain Cookies, bounce houses, crafts, face painting, and more all will be held on the North Meadow for moms and families.
After creating a day of memories on the North Meadow, be sure to capture the wonder of the zoo’s 1,000 animal ambassadors such as a new pack of wolves living in the award-winning Northern Trail. Enjoy animal stories and learn how to support wildlife conservation at Keeper Chats, storytelling by a Maasai interpreter, birds of prey in free flight, puppet shows in Zoomazium, giraffe and elephant feedings (additional fee) and many more “real close” experiences throughout the zoo.
The “Dinosaurs. Real Close” exhibit, presented by U.S. Bank and The Seattle Times, is open now through September 5. These life-size, animatronic creatures roar, snarl, hiss, spit, and move to give visitors a real close experience with the mighty dinosaurs. . Visitors will encounter more than 10 dinosaurs representing seven species that once roamed North America throughout the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods. Cost: $3, in addition to zoo admission or membership.
