Our photographer Steve Shay and freelance photographer David Rosen were out last night, photographing the glowing Sea-Based X-band Radar vessel as it past by Seattle.
Reader Hovie Hawk also spotted the SBX vessel. He said he noticed that his garage door opener and other wireless devices stopped working between 8:30 and 8:45. When he looked out the window of his Ballard he saw the SBX vessel passing by. Hovie said he later found out the vessel had been jamming the signals.
The SBX vessel is one of the sensors for our nation's missile defense system and is scheduled to arrive in Vigor Shipyards (formerly Todd Pacific Shipyards) on Wednesday.
