Raymond Olson, born in Fergus Falls, MN. passed away April 11th at his home in Ballard. He was 87. Ray was well known and beloved to many in Ballard and Seattle. After dairy farming in Minnesota throughout his childhood and mid-twenties he settled in Seattle in 1947 and worked in construction until retirement.
He will be remembered as a true gentle-man. Soft spoken and open hearted, he left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate to have know him. As a friend, he was loyal, fair and genuine.
We will miss you for a long time to come, dear friend. Your cheerful demeanor and kindness was always present and memories of you will ever remain fondly in our hearts.
Ray is survived by his sister, Beulah Westby and her husband, Marlyn in Mesa, AZ. as well as many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews throughout Washington, Minnesota and California. Our hearts go out to them for their loss of such a great brother, brother-in-law and uncle.
In lieu of flowers, Raymond’s request was for contributions to be made to Bastyr University which helped him greatly in the last years of his life. Address: 14500 Juanita Dr NE, Kenmore, WA 98028.
