Katherine Beth Mershon Sept. 10,1981 - May 29,2009
Katie, our beautiful daughter, sister, mom, niece, cousin and friend left this earth before her time. God took her to Heaven on May 29, 2009. Katie was born in Seattle, WA on September 10, 1981. She attended Loyal Heights Elementary, Whitman Middle School and Ingraham High School, class of 2000. She was the recipient of Ingraham High School's 1999 Renaissance Award, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Her son, DeVon Aaron Mershon, the love of her life, was born on May 14, 2000 (Mother's Day). Katie attended Seattle Vocational Institute and graduated as a dental assistant. She worked at dental clinics in the Seattle area and east side. Katie is survived by her loving family: parents Thomas Mershon (Christine) and Nancy OldenKamp (Paul), sister Suzanne Mershon, son DeVon, brother David Mershon, step-brothers David OldenKamp (Kami), Thomas (Lisa), Robin and Matthew (Menolly) Kempf, step-sister Karin OldenKamp, Aunts Catherine Farrar (John), Mary Dunkin (David), Uncle Jim Mershon (Nancy), best friend Joe Erickson, numerous cousins, family friends and neighbors. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 4:00 p.m., at the Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98133 ( HYPERLINK "http://www.washelli.com" www.washelli.com).
