Charlotte Marie Thordarson, 89, passed away June 10, 2009 in Marysville, WA. She was born April 12, 1920 in Seattle, WA.

Charlotte worked for Seattle Ship where she met her husband of 54 years, Helgi Thordarson. Later she worked as a cook at James Monroe Jr. High School and also Reno bus tour guide at Betty’s Tours. She enjoyed flower arranging, trips to Reno, cooking for family & friends and hosting dance parties with Helgi in their beautiful North Beach home. Helgi and Charlotte were long time members of the Calvary Lutheran Church and The Icelandic Club of Greater Seattle.

Helgi preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by one son (Phillip Thordarson) three daughters (Runa Calhoon, Kristine Porter, Dorothy “Dot” Thordarson), one daughter-in-law
(Karen Thordarson), one son-in-law (Wayne Porter), nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Charlotte always found the sunshine on a cloudy day, had a joke to tell or gag to pull on people. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and role model for women. She was loved by many and will be truly missed, but will live on in the hearts of those she has touched.

Memorial Service will be held at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, 2400 NW 85th St,
Seattle, WA 98117, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 100 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medic One Foundation, MS-359747, 325 Ninth Ave, Seattle, WA 98104.
