Longtime resident of Ballard, Frederick Martin Dahl, Sr. passed away October 26th. He was born in Wrangell, Alaska April 29th, 1915, the oldest of eight children.  His father taught him the family business, of good's transportation and fish processing, when Fred was very young.  He married the love of his life, Esther Fry in 1937, she passed away in 1986.  Fred and Esther are survived by two children, Deanna Dahl Meine (Bellevue) and Fred Dahl, Jr. (Ballard), daughter Esther Darlene Dahl Bickford passed away in 1979.  Fred also leaves two brothers and two sisters, daughter-in-law Shelly McEwan Dahl, grandsons Eric Meine, Adam Dahl, Hunter Dahl and grandaughter Laura Meine Duncan and three great grandchildren.
