Josette Marie-Louise Elizabeth Munderback
1921-2008
Born Josette Tanguy in Lorient, France, Josette married an American soldier and emigrated to the United States in 1946. She became a U.S. citizen one year later.
A true French woman who never lost her charming accent, she loved good wine,
seafood cooked to perfection, dancing, travel, and romantic music. She was a
lover of beauty and nature and grew beautiful roses and wonderful fruits and
vegetables. She loved animals and had made friends of the wild rabbits who live in the green belt behind her home. In her fifties she taught herself to paint and leaves a legacy of landscape and animal paintings that her family will always treasure. Most of all, she loved her family and was devoted to their well-being and happiness.
Josette was a resident of Vacaville, California, but spent her summers and several months in the winter with her younger daughter and family in West Seattle. She passed away here on February 3, from complications following surgery. She is survived by her daughters, Marie and Pushpa, sons-in-law, Karl and Gino, and her granddaughter, JoyMarie, all of whom miss her greatly.
A memorial service is being held for family and friends on Thursday, March 27. Donations may be made in her name to any animal welfare organization.
Adieu, chere Maman.
