George Wesley Mock.

95, passed away peacefully in his sleep April 11, 2008. George was born in Bellingham , WA , November 1, 1912 and spent part of his childhood in Juneau , Alaska before moving to Seattle . He graduated from Lincoln High School before going to work for the Puget Sound Navigation Co. (Black Ball Lines). George married Dorothy Duncan in 1939 and made their first home on Rockaway Beach , Bainbridge Island . They then moved to Port Angeles where George continued to work for Black Ball, and eventually the Washington State Ferries. The family then moved to Clinton , on Whidbey Island where George managed the Mukilteo ferry run and in 1959 they moved to West Seattle where George supervised the Fauntleroy-Vashon- Southworth route. In 1978, George Mock retired from the ferry system and was presented a special certificate of merit by Governor Dan Evans for his 50 years of dedicated service. George and Dorothy enjoyed a long and happy retirement spending time in Hawaii and at their beloved Wildberry Lake cabin. When Dorothy passed away on April 11, 2004, they had celebrated 64 years of marriage.
George is survived by his son Don Mock and wife Kathy; daughter Nancy Martin; also beloved grandsons, Andrew Martin and Peter Martin and wife Keiko.
George and Dorothy’s ashes will be scattered together on Puget Sound from the ferry Klahowa in a special gathering with friends and family.
