Virginia Combs Bonney entered this world to loving parents Veda and Herbert Combs on November 10, 1918 in Columbus, Montana. The Great Depression and her father’s bank failure compelled the family to move to Seattle, where she graduated from Broadway High School in 1936 She met Aurlo A. Bonney, her sister’s English teacher. They were married July 3, 1942 at Ft. Monmouth, NJ and they became mutually faithful, loving, and trusted companions for nearly 66 years.

She enjoyed her two sons, Allan Bonney and William Bonney, her caring daughter-in-law, Kathleen Bonney and three delightful granddaughters, Tara Bonney, Shanley Bonney, as well as Bryn Bonney who pre-deceased Virginia, her brother Donald Combs and numerous nephews and nieces.

Virginia was a homemaker most of her life, directing, listening to and raising her sons and enjoying her granddaughters. Virginia participated in numerous volunteer projects including Parent-Teacher Association meetings, School Masters’ Wives Club, and Lions Club Vision Screening program. She was well known as a door-to-door fund raiser for various charities including the American Heart Association.

Virginia was known by many for her love and kindness. She used her gift for service to others and modeled Christ-centered servant-leadership, not expecting recognition for her actions but affecting outcomes for the better nonetheless. Despite failing memory, her bright blue eyes and calm affect were pleasing and inspiring.

She passed from this life at The Heartstone on June 11, 2008 in the company of her loving husband with her family by her side.
