Fred Wingo

Fred Edward Wingo, Jr. was born November 16, 1920 and departed this life September 10, 2008. He was born to the union of Fred E. Wing, Sr. and Rosa Wingo in Platte City, MO. His first wife Margaret (the mother of his three children), his father and mother preceded him in death.

Fred was raised in Seattle, attended Longfellow Elementary and graduated from Garfield High School in ’39. He attended the University of Washington and served for 32 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. After retiring from GSA as a Quality Control Inspector he bought a tax preparation business where he worked as a tax consultant and prepared taxes until 2006.

Fred was an avid tennis player and fan and spent many hours honing his craft at the Seattle Tennis Center.

In 1999 he married Florence Anderson they both enjoyed a long and loving relationship.

Along with his beloved wife Florence, he leaves to cherish memory his three children; Michael, Charlotte and Denise; his four stepchildren Charlene, Gregory, Derek, and Steven; his 10 grandchildren Michael, Adrienne, Marcus, Sean, Tamiko, Tevin, Jared, Jordan, Austin, and Jeidlyn and his 10 great-grandchildren; niece Louette Fabio and host of family, friends and neighbors.

Memorial Services are Friday September 26, 1:00pm at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent WA. Repass to follow at 3:00pm, Peoples Institutional Baptist Church, 159 24th Ave., Seattle, WA.
