Kevin L. Dolan
Age 53, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Nov. 22, 2008. Kevin was a single father, son and brother with a wide circle of friends who will miss him dearly. He was born on July 28, 1955 to Nick Dolan and Ilene Halliday of Seattle. Ilene married Clinton Halliday in December 1960 and they raised their family in West Seattle. In Kevin’s early years he worked as a welder in the local shipyards. Following an auto accident he spent the last thirty years confined to a wheelchair and went on to graduate from Central Washington University with a major in accounting and a minor in business. After graduation he opened a local neighborhood Allstate Agency in West Seattle and enjoyed that for the past twenty years. He cared about the customers he interacted with and many became his friends. Kevin is survived by his beloved daughter, Shealyn M. Dolan; dad, Clinton Halliday; brother, Gene “Butch” Dolan (Joan), Larry Halliday (Linda); sisters, Nikki Ackerman (Donnie) and Laurie Schley and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Preceded in death by his father, Nick; mother, Ilene Halliday and all his grandparents. Kevin was a family man and a proud single parent who adored his daughter. He had many loyal and loving friends who all knew one thing about him. “For a man who spent the last thirty years confined to a wheelchair, he was the most stand up man any of us knew.” Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at the Senior Center of West Seattle, 4217 SW Oregon St., Seattle, WA 98116.
