Ferne Elliott

Ferne Howard Elliott passed away peacefully while holding
her sons hand on December 7th, 2008 after a short battle
with cancer.  Born Ferne Marlow Howard on Sept 23, 1915 in
Joyce, WA to Oscar and Mamie Howard she grew up on their
ranch the youngest of six children.  She graduated from
Crescent High School in 1933 and then attended University
of Washington for one year.  She then worked at the
University General Hospital for two years before moving to
the new West Seattle General Hospital.   She met her
husband Robert Elliott and they married in their house on
Alki Point in West Seattle on June 1940 where she
continued to live until Oct 2008.  During World War II she
sold War Bonds at Todd Shipyard.  Her life consisted of
dancing, traveling, fishing, bowling, cooking and
community events.  
She is survived by Gary & Virginia Elliott of Sequim, WA
and Robert Elliott of Hawaii along with 5 grandchildren, 9
great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.  
She also will be missed by friends Ron & Judy Sievert and
Jean & Tim Fanton.    Ferne will be remembered for her
positive attitude, her million-dollar smile and her love
of life.

Oregon St, Seattle WA  98116.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her home on Alki,
3023 63rd St SW, on Saturday, December 20th, from 1 to 5
p.m.
