Richard D. (Dick) Schultz

Born May 22nd, 1925, Dick passed away December 11 at age
83 after a long illness at Park West Skilled Nursing
Center in West Seattle.

A graduate of Highline Senior high school, Dick joined the
U.S. Marine Corps shortly after Pearl Harbor, seeing
action at Guadalcanal and Bougainville among other places.
After the war he served a short time in the U.S. Navy and
then transferred to the U.S. Air Force, retiring from 20
years of distinguished military service in 1962.

In civilian life he worked at several venues but mostly as
a Real Estate Appraiser with the Civil Service, and was an
avid boater and fisherman.  He was a member of such
organizations as: Life Member - the 1st Marine Division
Assn.,#75 American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars,
Disabled American Veterans, Guadalcanal Campaign Vets, 40
et 8 Voiture. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56
years, Gisela, sons Gordon and Steve and daughter
Marillyn, 4 grandchildren; also brothers Donald, Jerry and
Mick.

At his request there will be no funeral, just a short
ceremony at the National Cemetery in Tahoma for immediate
family. There will be a Get-together to celebrate his Life
on January 11, 2-5 pm at the West Seattle Eagles Hall at
4426 California Ave. SW,. Memorials for care of homeless
veterans may be sent to Compass Center, 77 S. Washington
St, Seattle 98104.
