Seattle Parks and Recreation is offering numerous Halloween activities throughout the city this month. These events are either free or low-cost. In Northwest Seattle, Seattle Parks will be offering the following events:
Haunted Bounce

Friday, Oct. 28, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
All ages
$2 per person
Join us for the Haunted Bounce. This Green Halloween event is kid-tested and parent-approved: no candy and all fun. Prizes are included
Halloween Carnival
Loyal Heights Community Center, 2107 NW 77th St.
Friday, Oct. 28, 6 to 8 p.m.
Ages: 11 and younger
Free
Join us for a fright fest of activities. Show us your best costume and remember to bring a goodie bag. Festivities include Halloween carnival games, crafts, mini pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating, a cakewalk, and ghastly prizes. We’ll have a special area for tots.
Teen Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt

Let’s kick off a Halloween to remember with a hunt for wicked prizes on our wooded lakeside grounds. We’ll award a Best Dressed prize at the end of the hunt, and we’ll provide free hot cider for everyone. Dress warmly, and remember to bring a flashlight and goodie bag. The hunt will begin at the community center lobby promptly at 7:30 p.m.
Halloween on the Big Screen

Friday, Oct. 28, 6 to 8 p.m.
$3 per person
Join us for a family-fun screening of a Halloween classic, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” Enjoy some popcorn and other treats, too. Movie begins promptly at 6:15 p.m.
Toddler Fall Frolic

Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Ages 2-5
$2 per child
This is a special event just for toddlers! Join us in the gym for a super-sized toddler open gym. Tots can bounce, bounce, bounce on two giant jumpy toys, enjoy fun games, dance to music, and eat popcorn and other treats.
Ghoulish Things Glow in the Dark Event
Magnolia Community Center, 2550 34th Ave. W
Friday, Oct. 21, 6 to 8 p.m.
Ages: 6-11 (children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult)
$3 per child and $1 for additional glow goodies
We’re turning the lights out in the gym for this very ghoulish event featuring bounce houses and tumbling mats. We’ll know exactly where you are by adorning you with a glow in the dark goodie. We’ll also provide light refreshments.
Pumpkin Bash

Bring the whole family for an evening of ghoulish fun! Kids will enjoy more than 25 carnival games, holiday entertainment, face painting, candy and prizes, two large jump toys, and the ever popular cakewalk. There will be a special room just for preschoolers. Please bring a can of food for our local food bank, and don’t forget to wear a costume!

Pumpkin Carving

$3 to $7, depending on the size of the pumpkin
Nothing says Halloween like a pumpkin carving! We’ll host this traditional favorite outside in the Magnolia Community Center parking lot (don’t worry, you’ll stay dry!) and provide all the things you need to create a hauntingly wonderful jack-o’-lantern.
