Press release:
Through efforts from the Washington Export Initiative comes a new resource developed for business, designed to aid companies who are interested in entering or expanding their reach across the globe. The Washington Export Resource Center (WERC) web portal has been formed by a dynamic partnership between business and education and offers access to a diverse network of stakeholders; products and services all aimed at helping businesses expand their markets.
WERC has been designed with the user in mind and showcases key features that allow the user to enter the export arena on many different levels; whether you are a small business new to export or a small, mid or even large business with current export experience wanting to expand into new global markets.
WERC includes valuable information designed to streamline these efforts while allowing access to new opportunities. The Department of Commerce Export Assistance Program grants fund these opportunities designed to aid businesses with their plans to export. Some key features of the website take the form of direct access to leading experts, free online training, access to new networks, assessment tools, news, events and much more.
WERC is managed by Highline Community College and the Center of Excellence for Trade Transportation and Logistics, contributing to the State Export Initiative under the direction of the Department of Commerce through the Community and Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) grants awarded in 2010.
Anyone wanting to know about the myriad of efforts across Washington State to help businesses expand into global markets will want to tour this valuable resource. To access WERC, visit www.waexports.com.
Established in 2004, Washington State Centers of Excellence provide resources, tools, and assistance to all 34 community and technical colleges in ten pivotal industries through partnerships in workforce and economic development throughout the state.
