According to a Washington's Most Wanted press release, a coworker of the person of interest in the Jayme Thomas murder (see photo above)convinced him to talk with police.

The surveillance video captured the man who was with the alleged shooter on the night of Jayme's murder.

The shooting suspect was arrested on Dec. 7, the same night a fundraiser was held at her family's church.

Des Moines police arrested a suspect in the brutal murder of 19-year-old Jayme Thomas. "It's a very good Christmas present for Jayme Thomas' family as well as Scott Kennedy,” said Sgt. Bob Bohl. A Washington’s Most Wanted viewer recognized one of his co-workers as a person of interest from video featured on the show November 18th. Video showed this person of interest at a convenience store with Thomas’ killer 30 minutes prior to the murder. According to police, the viewer convinced the person of interest to contact police, saying he cooperated with the investigation and provided additional information on other witnesses which then helped lead to the arrest.

Washington’s Most Wanted featured the Jayme Thomas murder as the top story for the past couple of weeks in their missing to find “Justice for Jayme.” Thomas was shot to death in the early morning hours of November 5th in the back of a car at Redondo Beach. A 24-year-old man with her, Scott Kennedy, was also shot and hit in both of his forearms. He is still recovering from surgery.

The suspect, who is under investigation for murder and assault with a deadly weapon, was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the King County Jail. He is set for arraignment tomorrow afternoon (December 9, 2011).
