Police Blotter: Several burglaries in Ballard; man robbed on Greenwood Ave

7:00 a.m. on January 9th. 83rd block of Greenwood Ave N
A man arrived at work on the morning of January 9th to find that his store had been burglarized overnight. The burglary occurred between 10:00 p.m. on the 8th and 7:00 a.m. on the 9th. The store owner arrived at work to find that the front door had been broken with a brick. The suspect then stole cash out of the cash register. The victim said that he had left the register key in the key slot of the register drawer. Everything else in the store appeared to be untouched, and no fingerprints were found at the scene.
10:47 p.m. on January 6th. 85th block of 11th Ave NW
A couple called police after finding a suspicious-looking bloodstain on a sliding door leading to their son’s room. The victims said that they found new nicks and scratches on the locking mechanism and stated that they believed that someone had attempted to force the lock open. The unknown suspect(s) did not gain entry into the home. The responding officer took blood samples at the scene for analysis.
3:15 a.m. on January 6th. 24th block of NW 80th St
A convenience store clerk called police at around 3:30 a.m. on January 6th to report that he had just arrived at work to find the store burglarized. Police reviewed the store’s security footage, which showed two suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts, black gloves, and scarves covering their faces. The suspects entered the store by throwing a rock through a window and climbing inside. They then stole 13 cartons of cigarettes and a large quantity of Lotto tickets. The video also showed the suspects hiding behind a dumpster near the store and walking around the area. Officers located scratch tickets nearby along 25th Ave NW. The victim said that the crime was similar to a previous incident at the store.
6:35 p.m. on January 5th. 10th block of Greenwood Ave N
A man called police on the evening of January 5th to report that he had been robbed. The victim said that he and his girlfriend had been visiting different areas in Seattle. He said that he was walking along when three men came up to him and grabbed his shoulders. They took his wallet, phone, and ring. The victim said that the suspects threw him to the ground but that he was not injured.
The suspects are described as white or Hispanic males in their 20s. All were wearing jeans, and two were wearing beanies. They were not found in the area.
