Discover Burien will be hosting their annual Awards Dinner and silent auction fundraiser on March 2, 2012 at the Burien Community Center 14700 6th Avenue SW, Burien WA 98166 from 6 – 9 p.m.. Money raised will support the continued efforts “To create and sustain a vibrant Burien business community through promotions and education" -Discover Burien Mission Statement.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $50 at the door. Tables seating 10 can be purchased for $280 in advance. Sponsorships are available at the Gold, Silver, Table, Auction Table and Swag Bag levels. Contact Debra George for information debrageorgemi@aol.com .

This year awards will be given for Business Leader of the Year, Non-Profit Leader of the year, Discover Burien Volunteer of the year, Student of the year, and Clean Sweep team member recognition. The Student of the year award will also be accompanied with a scholarship of $500. Nomination forms can be requested from the Discover Burien office at 206.433.2882 or via email at gina@discoverburien.com. Nomination forms are due back no later than February 3, 2012.

Robinson Newspapers and The Highline Times will also be presenting its annual Robby Award to a Burien resident or business person for outstanding community service.
