Cal Woyvodich was the only Highline-area athlete to reach the state semifinals held at the Tacoma Dome, taking a 2-0 loss to Gabe Martinez of Quincy to miss out on the championship match.

Kennedy Catholic won its semifinal against the perennially powerful Abes from Tacoma.

The Bulldogs won convincingly in 2A tournament play Saturday.

Seattle Christian finished fourth in its 1A tournament with Saturday's loss to King's High School of Seattle. The Warriors play Kalama in a 6 p.m. regional game in Chehalis Friday.

Boys basketball
Kennedy 65, Wilson 63
The Lancers' three-point victory paid off in the WCD championship and a top seed into this coming weekend's state regionals.
Kennedy Catholic will play Mercer Island in an 8 p.m. game Friday at Rogers High School in Puyallup with the winner advancing to the final eight in the Tacoma Dome next week and the loser ending its season.
Mitch Penner swished in 31 points for the Lancers in the win over Wilson.
Foster 53, Sequim 47
Foster bumped the Wolves from the tournament Monday and went on to play for a state regional berth Tuesday against Kingston. The Foster-Kingston winner plays again against Cedarcrest at 6 p.m. Friday in Stanwood and the loser is out.
Bellarmine 67, Mt. Rainier 61
Mount Rainier lost the third-place game in Auburn Monday but still advances to state regional action. The Rams play Issaquah in a 6 p.m. game at Juanita High School in Kirkland.
Girls basketball
Mt. Rainier 60, Federal Way 40
Mount Rainier avenged its loss to the Eagles in the SPSL championship game by beating them in Monday's WCD 4A girls championship game held at Showare Center in Kent.
The Rams, who improved to 24-1 overall, will play Bethel at 6 p.m. Saturday at Auburn in the state regionals. The winner goes to the Tacoma Dome next week and the loser is out.
Federal Way plays Stanwood at 4 p.m. at Auburn.

The Bulldogs' season ended with Monday's loss to the Trojans.

Seattle Christian visited an old-nemesis at King's High School this past Tuesday and lost, 48-35.

Foster 59, Port Angeles 41
The Bulldogs posted a win in West Central District 2A tournament action against the Roughriders this past Tuesday.
Mt. Rainier 59, Central Kitsap 38
Mount Rainier had to go on the road to Central Kitsap in Silverdale for its WCD opener Tuesday, but still won handily. The Rams play Kentwood at 8 p.m. Friday at Auburn.
Wednesday, Feb. 15
Eatonville 62, Foster 44
The Bulldogs are still alive for a 2:45 p.m. Saturday game at Lakes High School Saturday despite Wednesday's loss.
Mt. Rainier 57, Spanaway Lake 55
Mount Rainier took a 40-14 lead by halftime of Wednesday's West Central 3A game played in the Rams' own gym. They advance to play a 6 p.m. game at Rogers Friday, Feb. 17. Finals are Monday at ShoWare Center in Kent.
The Rams entered the week as the third-ranked team in the state 3A poll and the win improved their record to 21-1.
Thursday, Feb. 16
Girls basketball
SCS 60, Nooksack Valley 40
Seattle Christian advanced in the Tri-District tournament by posting a 20-point win over Nooksack Valley. The Warriors are set to play at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mountlake Terrace.
Boys basketball
Lynden Christian 74, SCS 58
The Lynden Christian team led by former Seattle Christian head coach Roger DeBoers beat Seattle Christian by a 74-58 game in playoff action Thursday. The Warriors advance to play King's at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for the No. 3 and No. 4 berths to the state regionals.
Clover Park 64, Foster 49
Foster suffered a 2A West Central District tournament loss Thursday but goes on to play a 12:45 p.m. game at Foss High School in Tacoma Saturday.
