UPDATE April 27

The film short, "All My Presidents", shot in location in West Seattle, has been selected to debut at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) with screening to be on Memorial Day May 28 at 11 am. Tickets on sale soon. That, according to the film's Facebook page.

This will help bring the film to the attention to potential backers to turn this into a full-length movie.

The film short, "All My Presidents", shot in location in West Seattle, was screened Sunday, March 18 at the Admiral Theater. The West Seattle Herald reported when a pivotal scene was shot on North Admiral here. As we mentioned in that November article:

"Corwood Productions, creators behind the Seattle Based TV pilot, the Divine Marigolds, are shooting a new film titled 'All My Presidents' Nov. 18 to 20th at two North Admiral houses in West Seattle. 'All My Presidents' is a short film, created by West Seattle resident and Executive Producer Sarah Mackay as a tribute to her grandfather. According to the film's press release, 'All My Presidents is about a young boy who, after losing his father, grabs ahold of the only thing left, the ideology of U.S. presidents. The film is set in 1954 through 1992 and explores the coming of age in a political world and finding your own voice.'"

Producers are West Seattle's Alder Sherwood, Jeremiah Kaynor, and Lisa Coronado, who stars as "Ida" in the film. Lorraine Montez is Co-Producer, with Abundant Productions.

Two vintage cars were parked outside the Admiral Theater, a '55 Chevy Bel Air & a mid-'60's Ford T'Bird. Inside, the lobby was packed with cast, crew, and audience members, some in vintage clothes from the post-WWII era. All tied into the era when the film was set. The short was 20 minutes, and hopes are to show it around film festivals to garner interest in a full-length film. A flood-lit red carpet area was set up for glam shots with the stars of the film.

After the show, the party moved a few doors north to the Mission Latin Bar & Restaurant's upstairs lounge.

There were other West Seattle showbiz connections thanks to the opening, and film, including local residents on the cast and crew of the web TV series "The Collectibles.".

Also, Sonya Khazaal, creator and star of the Phoenecia The TV Series (in pre-production), attended to show her support. She is the same "Khazaal" of Alki's Phoenecia Restaurant. This show will be based on the family restaurant and family. The West Seattle Herald will follow Sonya's progress on this project.

PRODUCER ALDER SHERWOOD

"It's special to me to have the opening here," Producer Alder Sherwood told the West Seattle Herald. "My mother worked here, and my grandmother used to come here. I had some of my first dates here. We wanted it to be at Admiral Theater since the project began, and Dinah and I are both members of Women in Film," she said of Admiral Manager Dinah Brein.

"It's always good to see a hometown girl do great," Dinah Brein said of Sherwood. "I'm very proud of her."

PRODUCER JEREMIAH KAYNOR

"I'm very happy with this," said Producer Jeremiah Kaynor. "I'm very impressed with how we pulled this together. The production value was very high.The script was written so well. When Alder did it she had such depth with the characters it was easily made into a feature. Sarah (Mackay) initially came to her with her idea. Alder and Lisa are wickedly talented people. Great cast. Great crew."
