Chief Sealth International High School in West Seattle is hosting its second athletics golf tournament Friday, June 1 at the Rainier Golf and Country Club.
"The goal of the Chief Sealth Athletics Golf Tournament is to become the prime method of fundraising for our student athletes, while also being a great opportunity to bring Sealth fans, families, community members and alumni together for an afternoon of fun, sun and great golf," said Sealth athletic director Sam Reed. "As athletic director at Chief Sealth International High School, I have the luxury and pleasure of overseeing our 15 athletic programs, more than 40 hard-working and dedicated coaches, and over 350 motivated and passionate student-athletes. Thanks to the help of many, Seahawk athletic teams continue to defunct regional trends by growing in both participation and support despite regular cutbacks and district-mandated fee increases."
The tournament is meant to showcase the school's athletic history, to allow the school to get a strength and conditioning coach, to help lower level program growth, to purchase video equipment and to supplement pay-to-play fees.
The cost to play in the tournament is $500 for foursomes or single registrations for $150. All proceeds go directly back to Chief Sealth athletics. Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first serve basis until the tournament is full.
Foursomes, hole sponsors, and overall sponsorships are now available for purchase online at https://csptsa.ejoinme.org/golf2012.

"I whole-heartedly believe that high school sports play a very important part in developing success in the classroom and success in life," Reed said. "Responsibility, teamwork and perseverance are traits that can serve one for many years to come."
