Not getting the hint
It was 4:15 a.m. on April 24 when a couple living on the 9000 block of 29th Ave S.W. awoke abruptly to their dogs madly barking and someone knocking and ringing the bell at their front door. The male victim peeked out his window and watched a young male start kicking back at the door with his face to the street. The victim attempted to scare the intruder off by yelling to his wife to call the police and get his gun, but the suspect just kept kicking. He gave up when the door wouldn’t give and started walking eastbound on S.W. Barton St. By that time, police responded to the scene and tracked him down. The suspect claimed he was from Tacoma and was just trying to find a friend’s house. Police took him to the victims’ home where he was positively identified at the attempted burglar. He was transported to the Southwest Precinct for booking and the couple said they would gladly testify in court.
Robbery at gunpoint
On April 20th a woman and her husband returned to their townhouse on the 9000 block of 18th Ave S.W. shortly before 10 p.m. The husband went inside and the woman walked to their mailbox to check the mail. Suddenly, a man walked up behind her and stuck a gun to the back of her head. “Give me your purse or I’ll kill you,” the suspect, described as a “light-skinned black male in his 20s with corn rows and a du-rag wearing a black or gray hoody and very baggy sagged black jeans,” said. The woman turned to comply and the suspect held the small semiautomatic pistol to her face. She handed over the purse and the male ran away in an unknown direction. Police set up containment and sent in a K-9 unit, but were unable to track him down.
Road rage on Alki
On an April 22nd Alki Ave evening, a motorcyclist was attempting to park on the 2300 block when a man in a white Hyundai lightly struck his motorcycle. After hitting the bike, the Hyundai driver got out, pulled a backpack out of his trunk, and pulled a handgun out of the backpack. The motorcyclist asked, “Do you really want to go there with your gun?” “Yes, I do,” the suspect replied. The victim jumped on his motorcycle and drove southbound until he came upon a patrol officer and flagged him down. As he explained the situation the suspect drove by. The officer pulled him over and arrested the 22-year-old suspect. He admitted to owning a gun, but refused to answer further questions and was booked into King County Jail for investigation of harassment and assault. The car was impounded pending a search warrant.
Drug deal turned assault
Near S.W. Holden St. and 16th Ave S.W. a male and female couple got off the bus in search of marijuana on April 16 right around midnight. They approached a male and female and asked if they could purchase some weed, but changed their minds and started to walk away. Moments later they were both attacked and punched. The man’s wallet was stolen and the woman had a tooth knocked out. They believe the drug dealers were the aggressors.
