Where in Ballard to watch the Euro 2012

The Euro 2012 kicked off on Friday morning, and for the next few weeks 16 nations will be competing for the ultimate European soccer glory - the Euro cup.
Formally known as the UEFA European Football Championship, the tournament the main football competition of the men's national football teams governed by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
This prestigious event has been held every four years since 1960, in between the World Cup tournaments. The Top European soccer nations will compete in hopes of winning the Eurocup title.
Among the fan favorites for this summer’s tournament are world cup power houses Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and France.

Listed below are the top sports restaurants and pubs in or near Ballard that will be showing the European international soccer matches
Ballard Loft
The Ballard loft will be opening earlier than normal at 8:45a.m. to show the matches live. The loft will be featuring a breakfast menu along with $3 for all drafts, a $5 Bloody Mary, and $5 Mimosas. This venue boasts their 16 flat screen televisions sets that can play live sound throughout the restaurant. The Ballard loft is located on 5105 Ballard Avenue NW.
The Market Arms
Located on 2401 NW Market Street, Ballard's British Pub offers a fine selection of ales, wines and liquor and not to mention great pub food.
“This place is known to be a famous soccer viewing destination as they receive great customer turnout during both European and Seattle Sounders FC match broadcasts,” said Market Arms manager John Bayliss.
The Market Arms will have live showings in the morning as well as replay the matches in the evening. This pub is complete with 4 flat screen television sets as well as one outside on the patio for weather permitted outdoor viewings. During the matches, the pub will be offering Carlsberg beer for $3.75 a pint. And four flat screens. (There is a fifth television out in the patio during the World Cup games.) Whether you’re looking for a place to catch the game or ready to unwind to some European soccer, The Market Arms’ spaciously lit and comfortable atmosphere could be your viewing destination.
Bad Albert’s Tap and Grill
Showcasing 11 big screen and changeable volume, Bad Albert’s Tap and Grill will be showing live matches in the morning (doors open at 7a.m.) as well as replays in the evening. Eurocup drink specials include Eurocup special well drinks for $3, $1 off drafts and 10% off boot. Specialty drinks will be sold for $5 with random shot specials daily.
“Our place is well known for food. Those planning on catching the games early can enjoy a breakfast menu,” said Cory Rockey.
In addition to the drink specials, Bad Albert’s will be starting happy hour an hour earlier than normal at 2p.m. Happy hour includes ½ off all appetizers. If you’re hungry and interested in viewing any of the matches, Bad Alberts can be found on 5100 Ballard Avenue N.W.
Kangaroo and Kiwi Pub
Located in the old Carnegie Library on Market Street, the Kangaroo and Kiwi, are open daily at 3 p.m. The Australian themed pub will be showing replays of every match within their business hours starting at 3p.m. The Kangaroo and Kiwi will also feature specials on food and drinks until 7 p.m. every day.
