10:15 p.m., August 15. 54th block of Ballard Ave NW

On August 16th, police responded to reports of a violent robbery that had occurred the previous night. The victim had visible scrapes and dried blood on his arms and legs when he spoke with police. The victim said that he had been eating dinner at a nearby restaurant the night before and was talking with the unknown suspect at the bar. The suspect left the bar at around 10:00 p.m., and the victim left about 15 minutes later to return to his boat. He said that the suspect suddenly came up to him and hit him several times, knocking him to the ground. The suspect then slammed the victim’s head into the ground several times, stole his cell phone, and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim said he managed to get to his boat, where he passed out. He refused medical attention from Seattle Fire but asked the officer for directions to the hospital. The suspect was not found in the area.

12:11 a.m., August 20. 87th block of Greenwood Ave N

A Greenwood-area store was robbed on the night of August 20th. The complainant arrived at the business to find that a glass and metal door had been pulled from its frame. No one was inside. Police determined that the suspect used a 3-4’ long crowbar to gain entry, stole several packs of cigarettes, and fled the scene. Nothing else was taken and the suspect was not found in the area.

9:44 a.m., August 19. 58th block of 24th Ave NW

A woman arrived to open up a Ballard restaurant for the day and found that it had been burglarized. The complainant said that a window had been removed. She entered the restaurant and observed that the suspect had gone through the register. She then found that the suspect had cut the phone line, which was connected to the alarm. Nothing was missing, and no fingerprints were found at the scene.

9:28 a.m., August 15. 92nd block of View Ave NW

A woman called police after her residence was burglarized while she was away for less than an hour. The victim told police that she left the house at 5:30 p.m. on August 14th and returned home at 6:10 p.m. to find that someone had removed a window screen and entered her residence. The victim said that she had forgotten to lock the window before she left. She found that her jewelry collection, with an estimated value of $40,000, had been stolen. She did not suspect anyone but said that she believed the suspects had been watching her house because of the short time window of the burglary and the fact that the suspects were able to quickly find her jewelry, which was in a closet upstairs. Police found two sets of fingerprints on the victim’s jewelry cases and the window that was the point of entry.

9:09 a.m., August 15. 1st block of NW 55th St

A man called police after his shed was burglarized on August 14th. The suspect cut open the padlock with bolt cutters to gain entry. The victim’s neighbor said that he had seen the suspect leaving the property with a suitcase, which the suspect opened and left at the intersection of NW 55th St and 1st Ave NW. The neighbor returned it to the victim; nothing else was missing from the shed. The victim’s roommate said she had left her vehicle unlocked and five house keys had been taken from inside.

9:37 a.m., August 13. 10th block of NW 65th St

Homeowners returned from vacation to find that their residence had been burglarized. A friend had taken care of the victims’ pet birds, and when she was returning them to the house, she ran into police officers in the area who said that they were searching for a suspect. The friend said officers checked the victims’ house for the suspect and watched her set the burglar alarm when she left. The victims returned home to find that their alarm was not set. They were missing a strange assortment of items: a pair of earrings, a half-gallon wine bottle full of coins, and a red watering can. No evidence was found at the scene.
