A cab driver was shot to death in Burien at around 5:45 pm Tuesday evening in the 14000 block of 8th Ave South.
Cindi West, King County Sheriff Public Information officer said, "A female called 911 and said that someone had been shot. When deputies arrived they attempted CPR and when aid got here they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The woman that lives here, lives here with her 16 year old son and her 14 year old daughter. The suspect is the father of the children and also the ex-husband of the woman.
The victim was driving a cab is a friend of the woman and he had just picked up the daughter and brought her home. The daughter had just gotten out of the car when the suspect pulled up, got out of the car and came up to the cab, opened the drivers door and fired a number of shots, striking the driver, killing him.
We believe that the 16 year old son and 14 year old daughter both witnessed this.
Within five to ten minutes of deputies arriving on the scene we received another 911 call from the suspect indicating he was at the Burien precinct and he was turning himself in. That's where he is now and was being interviewed by detectives."
It was unclear as to whether or not there was a history of domestic violence with the suspect. According to what the sheriff's were told they had been divorced for approximately 8 years. They were also told that the relationship between the mother and the victim was, "only friends."
The investigation will continue and we will update when more details are released.
