4:45 p.m., September 3. 43rd block of Greenwood Ave N

A woman called police after someone threw a can at her while she was driving. The victim said she was driving southbound on Greenwood Ave when she heard a car come up behind her. At the intersection, the vehicle pulled up next to her, and the male in the passenger’s seat threw a soda can at her face through the open car windows. The victim described the suspect as a white male and the driver as a white female. The car was a Volkswagen Jetta.

4:00 p.m., September 2. 85th block of Greenwood Ave N

Police spoke with an assault victim in the hospital on the afternoon of September 2. The victim said that he walked around a corner at 85th and Greenwood and was confronted by three black males in red shirts who ordered him to empty his pockets. The victim did not comply, and the suspects began punching him until he fell to the ground, when they began kicking him. The victim was eventually able to get up and run away. He said that the suspects chased him, but he boarded a bus and the driver called 911 for him.

12:00 a.m., August 31. 4114 Aurora Ave N

The night clerk at the Marco Polo Hotel was robbed at gunpoint shortly before midnight on August 31. The suspect confronted the victim, forced him into the office, and forced him to open the safe. The robber stole cash and other items, tied up the victim, and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured, and he was able to untie himself and call 911. He described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 30s armed with a handgun. The suspect also appeared to be speaking to an accomplice on a cell phone. He was not found in the area. At the time of the report the investigation was ongoing.

11:40 p.m., August 30. 85th block of Greenwood Ave N

The bartender at a Greenwood bar called police shortly before midnight on August 30th to report a fight between two males. One was on the ground, bleeding and unconscious, and the other had fled the scene. Seattle Fire treated the victim at the scene and then transported him to Harborview Medical Center. The victim was conscious but not talking and had no major head trauma.

Police spoke with witnesses at the bar, many of whom were extremely intoxicated. One woman named the suspect and victim, but no one could provide information about either of the names. Another witness said that the victim got into an argument with two suspects, and one of them hit the victim in the head with a bottle, knocking him unconscious. The bartender said that the victim was a regular and that she had seen the suspects before, but she did not know their names. The suspects were not found in the area.

4:09 and 4:41 p.m., August 27. 90th block of 9th Ave NW

Police responded to reports of two residential burglaries within the hour in the same area. In the first incident, the victim left his home securely locked at 7:00 a.m. and returned at 3:30 p.m. to find the rear sliding door open. The victim believed the suspect gained entry through a second story window. The suspect stole a television and several pieces of jewelry. Police lifted fingerprints from the window.

In the second incident, the victim left her residence at 8:30 a.m. and returned at 4:30 p.m. to find her second story sliding door open. The suspect stole a digital camera, jewelry, and a jar containing about $200 worth of change. Police lifted fingerprints from two jewelry boxes.
