Man killed in Motel in SeaTac A man was shot and killed Friday morning, Sept. 7, at the Motel 6 in the 20600 block of Military Rd. in SeaTac. Witnesses told police that the victim pulled up in a white SUV and went to a motel room in the complex. The victim appeared to try to enter the room with a key but when the door did not open he knocked on the door and was let in the room. Within a few minutes an argument was heard and then a gunshot. The victim stumbled out of the room and collapsed. Witnesses said two men and two women fled the room with their faces partially covered by shirts. They were seen driving away in a dark colored
vehicle, possibly a BMW. King County Sheriffʼs Detectives are investigating the case. SeaTac contracts with the Sheriffʼs Office to provide police services to the city.
Man Fatally Shot in Knights Inn parking lot in Tukwila
A man was killed in a shooting in the parking lot of the Knights Inn motel in Tukwila late Saturday night, Sept. 1, about 10:30 p.m. Police arrived to find the man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead on scene. Officers say the 37-year-old victim lived near the hotel. Witnesses told officers they noticed someone running from the parking lot following the incident. Mike Murphy, spokesman for Tukwila Police, says they tried to track the suspect using a police K-9 unit but were unable to find anyone. Murphy says most likely the suspect entered a building or got away in a car.
Youth pastor charged with sex crime
A Burien resident has been charged with a sex crime after allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a teen. Matthew C. Davis, a volunteer youth pastor at Grace Church, is being investigated after a paid youth pastor went to police about allegations against Davis. He is accused of sending romantic emails to a 15 year old female parishioner. Emails began in early 2012 and Davis allegedly offered to leave his wife to start a new life with the teen. He is alleged to have said he would quit his job at Boeing and follow her to college. Davis was immediately dismissed from his volunteer position.
