3:00 p.m., September 11. NW 61st St and 15th Ave NW

Police are searching for the masked man who robbed the US Bank in Ballard on the afternoon of September 11th. The suspect entered the bank and ordered everyone to get on the ground, implying that he had a gun. He demanded money from bank employees and then fled the scene in a 2-door black Porsche 944 Turbo hatchback. The suspect is described as a white or Asian male about 30 years of age, between 5’8” and 5’10” with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, jeans, a face covering, and sunglasses. 2:27 a.m., September 9. 70th block of 23rd Ave NW

Police responded to reports of an attempted robbery very early on the morning of September 9th. The victim told the responding officer that the suspects drove up and began loading his block party equipment (folding tables and barbecue supplies) into their vehicle. The victim said that he confronted the suspects and asked them to return the property, and they said that they thought the items had been left out to be taken. The victim said that the suspects appeared to be intoxicated, and one of them said that he was going to take a water jug. Both the victim and the suspect then armed themselves with poles, but the suspects left without any assault taking place. The victim was able to take pictures of the suspects and said that he would be able to identify them if he saw them again.

10:17 p.m., September 8. NW 62nd St and 14th Ave NW

A reckless driver was arrested on the night of September 8th after damaging several vehicles. A vehicle patrol officer noticed the Ford pickup, driven by an adult male, traveling recklessly and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect tried to back away, hitting the patrol car, and then attempted to flee, striking three parked cars in the process. The suspect’s vehicle was ultimately disabled as a result of the collisions, and the suspect then attempted to flee on foot. Officers located the suspect on the 1400 block of NW 63rd St. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail on two counts of felony hit and run and one count of felony eluding.

9:11 p.m., September 7. 85th block of 15th Ave NW

Police responded to reports of an assault with a traffic cone on the night of September 7th. The victim’s girlfriend called police to report that her boyfriend had been attacked by another man. The responding officer located the victim and complainant in a parking lot. The victim’s shirt was bloody and his lip was split badly enough that the officer believed it would need stitches.

The victim said that he was sitting with his girlfriend when a white truck pulled into the lot and a man he described as a tall Mexican got out and stood in front of them. The victim said that he told the man to move, but the man replied in Spanish, so the victim went over to the truck and asked the passenger to ask his friend to move. He said that the man who had gotten out of the truck then grabbed a traffic cone and hit him in the face, then got into the truck and drove away.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. It was later determined that he had a misdemeanor warrant out, but the officer did not serve it due to the injuries. The officer searched the scene and found a bloody traffic cone.

12:10 a.m., September 4. 55th block of 20th Ave NW

Police responded to a report of an assault at a bar in the middle of the night on September 4th. The responding officer arrived at the scene to find several males holding another male to the ground outside. He spoke with a bartender, who said that she had had an argument with the suspect and asked him to leave the bar. She said that the suspect began smoking inside the bar, and when she told him that it was illegal to smoke inside and asked him to go outside, he threatened to attack the other customers and kill the bartender. The bartender said that she believed the threat to be genuine.

Another patron at the bar attempted to talk to the suspect, but the suspect punched him and the victim fell to the ground. He was not seriously injured. The bartender got a baseball bat and held it out to protect herself as she and several patrons escorted the suspect out of the bar. The suspect tried to punch her and missed, then grabbed the baseball bat from her and swung it at her, hitting a patron in the arm. He was then held outside until police arrived.

The suspect was arrested for assault against two different victims. He said that he did not punch or hit anyone.
