Injured woman found on 152nd in Burien
A 56-year-old Burien woman was found lying in the roadway with a head injury Nov. 5, outside Burien Town Square. At about 5:30 p.m. police responded to a 911 call involving a woman lying in the road bleeding from the head. Witnesses said the woman had just left a pet store. Police said no one reported hearing tires screeching or an impact but did see a van drive slowly around the woman. Detectives also believe the driver of the
van may be a potential witness and are asking them to come forward. The van was described as a late 1980ʼs Ford or Chevrolet, possibly gray with an orange or brown stripe down the side. The van's driver is not a suspect. The woman remains at Harborview in critical condition. Ford Ranger failed to make Burien curve
King County Sheriffʼs Office spokesperson Sgt. Cindi West reported two people suffered critical injuries in a North Burien crash at Southwest 120th Street and Ambaum Boulevard South. West said, a green Ford Ranger failed to make the curve on northbound Ambaum near 12th Avenue Southwest and hit the curb, a street light pole, and tree. Vehicle theft leads to arrest of pilot in SeaTac
A 43-year-old Oklahoma man, who police learned was a pilot, was arrested in SeaTac after stealing another man's car. SeaTac police officers responded to the Hilton Hotel in the 17600 block of International Blvd. The victim, a 66-year-old Bainbridge man, told
police he had gotten into his rental car at the Hilton Hotel when the suspect got into his back seat. The victim asked the suspect what he was doing in the car. After a brief exchange of words, the victim pointed a handgun at the suspect and told him to get out of the car. A struggle ensued and the victim struck the suspect several times with the handgun. The victim got out of the car and the suspect chased him around the car. The suspect then got into the driver's seat and fled in the victim's vehicle. Within a few minutes employees at the Wally Park next to the Hilton called to report a suspicious, bloody male in the parking lot. When police arrived they found the suspect and the victim's car. The suspect is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or
drugs. He was arrested for Vehicle Theft and DUI and booked into the King County Jail.
Washington's Most Wanted TV show helps capture, arrest "cool-cat accomplice"
Federal Way police arrested the accused armed robber on Q13's "Washington's Most Wanted" dubbed the "cool-cat accomplice" because of his "icy demeanor" during a convenience store holdup last January at the Shell station's convenience store on South 272nd Street. in Des Moines. Officers caught his sidekick who jumped over the counter and fell on his head during the robbery thus earning the nickname, the "clumsy crook." The other suspect, Jonathan Upham allegedly calmly walked around, taking money out of the till. A "Washingtonʼs Most Wanted" viewer identified Upham to Crime Stoppers after seeing the surveillance video on WMW. Upham was booked into the King County Jail on his $200,000 warrant for Robbery in the First Degree. He is the 337th fugitive to be identified and\or captured thanks to a WMW viewer tip.
