According to court records released by the prosecutor's office, the suspect was living with his 69-year-old mother in the Unity Village apartments, however the apartment manager said the son was not living there and had been told to stay off the property for a year from August, 2012 after an incident. We are working toward information from the King County Sheriff's Office to confirm (Update on Nov. 15).
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to the court, the suspect became angry with his mother because she would not let him into the apartment.

The suspect then admitted to stabbing his mother "during spontaneous statements to responding deputies and to detectives during a post Miranda interview," according to the probable cause document.
