SHORELINE - Complete cooperation from all areas catapulted the Seattle Christian Warriors to an overwhelming 4-0 shut out of Cashmere on Friday, Nov. 16, at Shoreline Stadium, enabling SC to reach the Class 1A girls soccer championship encounter against University Prep..

"We knew they were going to be tough, so we had to keep possesion," said a pleased Seattle Christain head coach Melissa Dunckley. "This was our best game of the season. All the forwards from the outside and inside, midfielders and defenders worked well as a whole group."

Seattle Christian (20-0) put Cashmere on notice early with blistering attacks and dominating defense that sent the Warriors into a 1-0 lead.

In the third minute Megan Nielsen sent a through ball from the right side into Faith Pizzey who beat a defender to chip the ball left of the goal keeper.

"Megan's pass split the middle and I just got it and shot it in," said Pizzey

Cashmere attempted to ignite an early offensive with high kicks in the steady rain, spending seven minutes harassing the rock ribbed Warrior defense.

By the 21st minute, Seattle Christian was overwhleming Cashmere on all fronts wih good ball dispersal joining the dynamite defense.

Nielsen beautifully set up Abigail Kim for 10-yard shot into the upper right side of the net as the Warriors dominated the action in a 2-0 score.

The ever enthusiastic Kim declared confidence about her kick as well as the final result of the game.

"I thought we would win when I planted my foot and kicked," she said.

It was as if the Warrior defenders had put a tight leash in close quarters on the Bulldog strikers.

After a brief Casmere surge in the opening moments of the second half, SC took over the reins. Cashmere was unable to dent the Seattle Christian defense.

Nielsen joined the scoring brigade when stole the ball, dribbled into the box and unleashed a 10-yard kick into the net in the 61st minute.

"I just had an adrenaline rush from our first goal," Nielsen said of her efforts that resulted in two assists to match up with her goal.

A Warrior overpowering presence that had manifested itself early remained until the expiration of regulation time.

Seattle Christian's final goal was earned through a collaboration of two players who had entered the clash two minutes earlier.

Isabella Responte crossed a pass to MIkayla Wrolstad for a goal in the 72nd minute.
