13 West Seattle Students Swing in the New Year January 13 at Garfield Jazz Winter Concert

13 student musicians who call West Seattle home are part of the renowned Garfield Jazz Band for this year and will take part in the first concert of the season as Garfield Jazz Bands I, II and III take the stage together for the band's Winter Concert:

Garfield Jazz highlights Seattle’s citywide talent, featuring students from Beacon Hill to Ballard, Lake City to Leschi, Madison Valley to Magnolia, Wallingford to West Seattle. Thirteen Garfield Jazz students call West Seattle home.
Band I features Derek Billey (alto saxophone), Kellen Bryan (drums), Calvin Foucault (guitar), Charlie Sawyer (tenor saxophone), Nihkil Wadhwa (guitar).
Band II area musicians are Edward Batchelder (trumpet), Julien LaPierre (piano), Talia Lawrence (trumpet), Elliot Reid (guitar), Connor Steen (trombone).
Band III debuts with West Seattle’s Conor Gormally (bass), Morgan Higgins (piano), Liya LaPierre (bass), Connor Steen (trombone)
Band I and II perform under the direction of the inimitable Clarence Acox, Jr. Band III is directed by world-renowned trumpeter Jay Thomas, along with Scott Lytle.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, or $20 per family. Middle school students are admitted free with school I.D. Baked goods, hot cider, and a limited supply of Vietnamese sandwiches will be available, so come early!
