There will be a release party tomorrow, Friday night, Feb. 8, at 9:00 p.m., as Seattle-based rockers Van Eps will release their second video single "Save Yourself" (after "Go Ahead") and perform live at the Feedback Lounge, 6451 California Ave SW. No charge.
The release party will include the unveiling of the single's music video directed by West Seattle video artist Jamie Burton Chamberlin of Black Dahlia Films followed by a live performance.
Peace Mercutio will also be playing a set.
"Save Yourself", produced by Scott Olson, is performed by the four-member band of Matt Strutynski- Lead Vocals and Guitar, Jake Jovanovich- Vocals and Drums, Bobby Steenrod- Bass, & Brad Steenrod- Lead Guitar.
Matt Strutynski lives in West Seattle. Bobby Steenrod lives in White Center. Jake Jovanovich lives in Burien. Brad Steenrod lives in Federal Way. All were buddies at Kennedy High School in Burien.
Said Strutynski, "Both this video and the first video were shot by Jamie at The Feedback, so it only seemed fitting to have the release party there. While 'Go Ahead' (our first single) focused on how we like to goof off and the fun party nature of our shows, 'Save Yourself' shows off a bit of our darker rock and roll side, and I couldn't be happier with how the song and the video turned out.
"We will be releasing one more single with a video, as well as a full length album soon," he said. "Though dates for those have not been decided, we plan to have the third single released by mid-spring and the album done by the end of this year."
Said Chamberlin, "Vans Eps are one of those young bands that seem to have all their cards in place, talent, a strong production and recording team, and a dedication to making it all happen."
He said there has been a lot of excitement about their Jan. 13 sold-out Showbox at the Market concert, with Windowpane.
The West Seattle Herald recently reported on another Chamberlin project, the just-completed 11-episode Duff McKagan video "The Taking" featuring his band, Loaded.
