PUYALLUP - Seattle Christian fought hard before its girls Class 1A basketball season abruptly ended in a 58-37 loss to Charles Wright on Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Cascade Christian High School campus.
Aly Kaler and Madelyn Weber led the Warrior effort that kept the game close in the first half.
After trailing 9-6 after one quarter, Seattle Christian played a solid second quarter to emerge with a 20-19 halftime edge.
Led by sharpshooting Shoni Pritchett, the Tarriers piled up 25 third quarter points to go into the fourth quarter with a 44-29 lead that grew and grew before the game-ending buzzer.
Charles Wright shot a blistering 54.2 per cent second half from the field to close with 42 per cent for the game. Seattle Christian finished with a 21.2 per cent field goal accuracy.
Pritchett shot 9-for-17 from the field including 2-for-4 from beyond the three-point arc as well as controlling the inside for 27 Tarrier points. Vanessa Davis notched 19 points while gathering nine rebounds.
Kaler had 14 Warrior points to join with teammate Weber's nine points. Alayna Gleason scored eight points. Jessalyn Henry gathered seven total rebounds to lead the Warriors in this category.
