West Seattle Bike Connections and Seattle Neighborhood Greenways are teaming up for a short memorial ride in remembrance of Lance David, the cyclist who was killed early Wednesday morning. It will be this Tuesday, May 7th at 5:30pm. Details can be found here:

Update for May 3
The King County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim of a fatal May 1 bicycle crash with a semi-truck as 54-year-old Lance David of Federal Way. A group of his friends will ride to the accident scene on Friday and gather at 3pm as a way to honor him and call more attention to the need for safety.
Mayor Mike McGinn said he would take some action soon to address the safety issues at the intersection of South Hanford and East Marginal Way South.

An bicyclist in his 30's lost his life in a collision with a semi-truck at the intersection of S. Hanford and E. Marginal Way S. on the morning of May 1.
The fatal incident sadly coincides with the kick off of King County Bike to Work month, where commuters are encouraged to leave their cars at home and opt for self-propelled transportation.
The victim has not been identified at this time and commuters may expect delays at the intersection as police investigate.
Here are the details from Seattle Police:
Seattle Police and Fire responded to a fatality collision between a bicyclist and a semi-truck this morning at South Hanford and East Marginal Way South.
Witnesses called 911 at around 7:15 this morning informing first responders of the collision. Witnesses began giving the adult male cyclist CPR at the scene until Seattle Fire arrived, but the cyclist did not survive his injuries. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are enroute to the location where they will process the scene and begin their investigation.
