Everyone self-extricated and the four passengers stayed with the stolen vehicle while the driver ran off with unknown injuries.
Police did not report any arrests of the four passengers, but are still actively searching for the driver.
Update for 1 p.m., June 4
Traffic investigators are still evaluating the scene at 2501 Harbor Ave. S.W., and said to expect at least another hour of road closures.
The Herald spoke with a man at the scene who said he was the owner of the flipped SUV involved in this morning's crash. He said his vehicle had been stolen from the Alki area earlier in the day and he was not driving at the time.
Employees at Sea-Way Marine, with a front row view of the wreck, told the Herald they saw the stolen SUV driving at a high rate of speed and striking a parked car, causing it to flip. They estimated five individuals fled the vehicle after the accident.
Police have not remarked to verify eyewitness accounts at this time, nor confirmed any arrests.
Regarding injuries, Kyle Moore with the Seattle Fire Department provided this update: "At 9:43 a.m. Engine 36 and Engine 29 responded to reports of a Heavy Rescue at 2501 Harbor Avenue SW.
