Got time to volunteer? The Southwest Seattle Historical Society needs you! Like to interact with people? Fix computers? Update databases? Make small repairs? Transcribe interviews? Shoot and edit videos and still photos? Plan events? Get a glimpse of our community?s past?
Whether you have lived here one year or 50, come learn about how to turn your desires and skills into meaningful tasks that will help preserve and promote the heritage of West Seattle and the greater Duwamish peninsula. Here's a way to look to the future by helping others explore West Seattle's past. The Southwest Seattle Historical Society, which operates the Log House Museum, offers this introduction to volunteering, led by Clay Eals, executive director. Thurs., July 4th at 10 a.m. The Kids are the parade! We encourage them to decorate strollers, scooters, wagons, trikes and bikes. There will be fun, old fashioned games at Hamilton View Point Park. Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class

Tacos in the Park for White Center Homeless Population

Tacos every second Friday of the month at noon during the summer (Fri., July 12 and Aug. 9). Union Gospel Mission is assisting in coordinating this event, to continue their important outreach work in White Center. They have been serving the homeless population on Saturday evenings for over two years. White Center business owners are encouraged to send the homeless from their block to Tacos in the Park.

Chief Sealth International High School All Class Reunion

All alumni are encouraged to attend and see the many great changes at our alma mater. Friends of Sealth is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization supporting many student groups and activities, as well as providing scholarships for deserving graduates.
