Booths and people will fill the streets of the West Seattle Junction July 12-14 for the West Seattle Summerfest. Music, food, shopping and lots of family friendly activities will be on the schedule.
The 31st annual West Seattle Sidewalk Sale and Summerfest will burst into life July 12-14 offering a full calender of entertainment, shopping and family activities. The event sees tens of thousands of people from across the region attend our area's biggest party of the year.
More than 265 booths will be set up from Edmunds Street to north of Oregon Street SW with a dizzying array of products, information and services. The full vendor list is here.
Stop by the West Seattle Herald booth in the heart of the festival (booth 79 next to Easy Street Records) where you can meet our staff, subscribe to the print edition, buy a photo or ask a question.
Music is a major part of the event and the Young Fresh Fellows are the signature act on Friday night at 10pm on the California Stage at the north end of the Junction. Saturday night the big attraction will be Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Whiskey River.
Also appearing throughout the three day event are West Seattle's favorite children's musician Caspar Babypants (Chris Ballew) who will be kicking things off on Saturday at 11am at Junction Plaza Park., well known power rockers Hobosexual appearing Saturday at 6:40pm, and Mark Pickerel drummer for The Screaming Trees who also played on albums by Mark Lanegan, Brandi Carlile, and Nirvana will play on Saturday at 4:40pm.

West Seattle Nursery and Sustainable West Seattle are the sponsors of GreenLife ~ Living in the Green Lane, a Garden and Sustainability Expo. Alki Bike and Board is presenting the GreenLife stage offering demonstrations meant to educate and inspire more sustainable living. The demos will include everything from "Cooking in Season to Family Biking, to Backyard Beer. Demonstration schedule is here or see the link above. This Sunday DIY Bikes will be at the Greenlife Festival doing free bike repairs from noon until 5pm. There will also be a sixteen bike parking rack on site.
Clowns Unlimited will be supplying rides, bouncy houses and activites for kids from toddlers on up in the Kids Area on the west side of Alaska Street and in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot. Tickets and day/weekend passes areavailable. West Seattle’s Young at Art is hosting a free art and activity area with support by Pathfinder K-8 and Curious Kidstuff.
Art Dive! will show the work of dozens of local artists, coordinated by the Twilight Artist Collective in an area on California Avenue, north of Oregon Street.
