3rd Annual Beat the Burn 5K run/walk will benefit burn victims Sept. 29

The 3rd Annual BEAT THE BURN 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ Dash start with the blare of a siren on Sunday, September 29th at 9:00 a.m. at the Alki Beach Statue of Liberty Plaza in West Seattle at 1702 Alki Avenue SW. The event is open to all runners, walkers, fire fighters and family members of all ages, including well behaved four-legged best friends.

Cost: 5K Run/Walk - $30 registration on or before September 27th
$40 - 5K Run/Walk on the Day of the Event (September 29th)
$100 - 5K teams of Four or more ($25 each)
$100 - Firefighter Challenge- Teams of Four ($25)
Free Kids’ Dash – 10 years & under (Fire Helmet & 5K water bottle)
A special Kids’ Area for the younger set and a Beer Garden for those over 21 will be on tap to cool off the runners and event friends. Prizes for both runners and the drawings for 5K event patrons, i.e. restaurant gift cards, theatre tickets, harbor cruise, and more will be awarded.
The even helps support young burn survivors ages 7-17 and sends kids impacted by burns, to Camp Eyabsut summer camp.
The name “Eyabsut” means, “To Rise Above Anything!” Our mission: “to enhance the self-esteem of every child and enrich their physical, social and emotional growth”.
At the race you can meet the fire fighter partners, the Port of Seattle Fire Department/Local 1257 firefighters and the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Burn Foundation and help support burn prevention.
