One of the safest trick or treat options you can take (and best for little kids) is back this year on Halloween itself from 3pm to 6pm as the Admiral District merchants open their treasure chests of candy.

Speaking on behalf of the merchants, Brent Amacher (State Farm Insurance) said, "Folks will have their signs on the front of the business. We have a strong tradition in the neighborhood and the turn out has gotten bigger each year. We are expecting to have at least the same level of participation as last year. And this year, it's happening on Halloween (as opposed to the Friday prior)."

In years past there were other aspects to the event but the merchants chose a more streamlined version for this year so kids could visit the most places and get what they came for, more delicious candy.
