A couple of nights ago, someone intentionally broke the outside window of the Ballard Hair Salon.
A worker at the salon said that no rock or object had been discovered on the inside. Furthermore, because it was a tough window to break, she said that they didn't believe it was some random drunk person who caused the damage. They suspected that it was someone either on drugs or someone who simply had "destructive habits," she said.
Because the window must be measured out, it won't be replaced until next week. The window is estimated to be $2,000.
The business was not actually broken into and nothing was stolen.
When asked why she thought someone would break their window, the worker at the salon said, "Well you know, old Ballard isn't what it used to be."
The customer in the chair, who said she has lived in Ballard since there were still a couple of dime stores, gave a small chortle, "That's for sure."
Ballard Hair Salon is still open for business.
