The Seattle Fire Department will be conducting a series of Citywide Earthquake Drills on four separate dates. Starting at 10 a.m. on the days of the drill, dispatchers will announce” This is a drill, this is a drill; we have experienced an earthquake”. For several hours, you will hear Seattle Fire radio traffic related to the mock earthquake. The purpose of the drill is to practice natural disaster emergency response procedures.

During the drill, firefighters will continue to respond to all emergencies in the City. This will not have an impact on our response times or operational readiness.

The dates of the drill are Saturday October 19, Sunday October 20, Saturday October 26 and Sunday November 2.
