Mystery light underwater off Alki solved!
A Seattle Police boat off Alki Beach was looking for the source of a light underwater spotted by a patrol officer in the early morning hours before dawn on Jan. 30.

Seattle Police Department public affairs officer Rene Witt explained that SPD and the Coast Guard, "didn’t find anything or anyone in distress. They did however, find the light in question and it was attached to a crab pot. Possibly put there by a fisherman."

Seattle Police on Alki around 4:30 a.m. Jan. 30 noticed an extremely bright light, underwater across from Bonair Drive.
They called in the Coast Guard but were not able to determine the source of the light.
According to scanner calls they have marked the location via GPS and are continuing to investigate the matter.
